Adventure for tonight will be going to the horse races & playing penny slots,LOL! Have about got Michael talked into heading for Tioga Downs for the races. It's nearby, likely free outdoor entertainment, & I think it would be fun for a change. Our Saturday nights are always the stay-at-home-&-kick-back variety, so for *me* to suggest *going somewhere* for an adventure is a novelty. He did not say *no* so I consider that a yes! Today's Flag Day ~ so my fluff will include Sapphire &/or Sailor ~ & maybe even Hot Blooded, who knows! 600 mg ibu will be soon kicking in for my poor foot ~ & it'll be off to the races we go!

Mikie-
I am glad to hear you are doing so well. I love how you take a not so good situation and make the best of it. You are great! And yes, you would fit right in with those teen girls. You are so young at heart!

The Race Track sounds fun! Donoli's out towards the track is good for dinner if you like big helpings of prime rib (I can take it or leave it, but every once in a while my husband likes it as a treat).

We decided on Rochester- I need to get out of my T-burg rut, so a little trip to Sephora and Dinosaur BBQ will be out little adventure.

You inspired me with the Flag Day theme- I'm wearing Sizzle with Wink Wink in the inner corners, and highlighted with Sprite. Right now I'm starting with Gold Blush as a lippie, but later it will probably progress to something in my purse (it could be any one of about 30- big purse, big addict). For blush I went with my new standard Babydoll- but probably Lovelace would have been the better choice (this is why I don't jump in on the color suggestion threads much- I'm better at making it than making it work).

Good luck at the track!

Well, we have a couple things in common already, ROFL! (My BIL's in Rochester, too ~ so that's *another*!)

I have a multitude of colors on, no surprise there ;-). Used Cupid as overall base, Cabana on lid w/SeaGrass on outer corners, drylined w/Sapphire 1st, then used a deeper version of Sea Grass wet-smooshed into lashes. A couple coats of SN mascara. A bit of Outlaw blended with a *touch* of Carnal as blush. Tried Hot Blooded, but nope, not for this look...tried Capricious...nope...so Berry Crush it is,LOL! Top is black w/brightly colored embroidery...reminds me of Cancun! :-) Wearing hand-carved hematite earrings ~ a cat on my left ear, a dog on my right!

Jen, I firmly believe we *choose* our reactions to situations. I'm way more prone to gigglefits than I am to crying jags! Life's short; might as well enjoy the ride!

WOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOO! Hubby's FINALLY getting dressed to go!

Have a good night, everybody!

Mikie! I loved this quote so much, I added it to my siggie. I hope you don't mind. They are definitely words to live by!

I hope you had a wonderful evening!

Morning! Heck, no, I don't mind a bit, Jen! :-)

Had fun last night! We watched the races & rooted for those whom we'd placed $2 bets on. Some had *very* silly names (HiHoHiHo, for one) & it was a hoot listening to the announcer making them sound even more comical! I picked the "right horse" a couple of times (wow, I won $4,ROFL!), so *of course* I snapped pics of them in the winner's circle. After the races, there were supposed to be fireworks, but that was a washout ~ it was pouring buckets as soon as they ended. We went inside & listened to the (free) live entertainment (band) for a few minutes before wandering into the casino to play a penny slot machine. It was a fun evening & something different to do!

That quote is a fantastic one- and absolutely true. My sister lives in Saratoga, and they name some of the streets after the horses- and they always are a hoot. Getting directions is fun- turn left on Hot Dog lane, right on FunnyCide- etc. For some reason it didn't occur to me that they're racing at Tioga now. I don't get the Binghamton news- so it kind of slipped by me. That does sound like a fun thing to do on a Saturday night!

Rochester wasn't bad- Dinosaur BBQ was awesome- we had never been, and almost *didn't* eat there because it was an hour wait, but we found seats at the bar, and I'm glad we stayed. The food was absolutely phenominal. I couldn't resist hitting Sephora on the way out of town. Nothing really tripped my trigger, but I did get to smell Le Jardin de Nil from Hermes- I just read that book on perfume, and it was all about the creation of that scent. On me it kind of smelled like dish detergent- but I'm guessing on the right woman that it's fantastic- it smelled great on the sniffie paper. Apparently it was their 1 year anniversary- and they were all made up like Rock Stars- after seeing the girls with the rainbow eyes on Friday- it was all I could do not to sit them down, grab my makeup bag out of the car, and go to town. Sephora's always a little tough for me in that respect- I have to make sure I don't have any of my makeup in my purse so I don't start handing it out.

Time to go meet the fam for lunch!

Have fun! :-)

Have heard there's a Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse, too. Gerri (cousin & buddy) & I were going to eat there a few weeks back but ended up eating in a small town on the way home instead. My hubby buys their prepared pulled pork once in awhile ~ I believe that's the name he buys ~ yummy, at any rate!

The 4 of us were talking about Saratoga last night while at the races. Just might make that jaunt this year ~ we went once, yrs ago ~ & every yr, Michael says we should "get up to Saratoga" in August,LOL..so who knows!
