Luxe vs Velocity

Yes, we are most definitely geeks! I love both combos, they look really great with your skin and eyes!

I swatched a few shadows today so you could get an idea of how Legend compares:

Teakie is unfortunately discontinued, but I adore it and ration it out! Looking at it beside Honey, I'm wondering if Chic will be a close enough substitute for it? Wonder how close Legend is to Harvest? I don't have Harvest... Lucky is discontinued as well.

I haven't worn Legend since last autumn, so I decided to give it a go today after being inspired by your look...and ended up doing my whole face!

Highbeam from lash line to crease, Sprite from crease to brow bone and inner tear duct highlight, Legend carefully blended through the crease and up. I have to use a well tapped brush when wearing Legend because it's so pigmented and a more heavy handed application is not the most flattering look!

Highbeam melted in more than I wanted it to because I didn't take the time to foil it... Applied on it's own my skin eats it up! Same with Sprite, which is why you can't see it much. I'll detail the other makeup and post a full face photo on the FOTD thread. I'm wearing Palace with it, have you tried it yet?

Radiant looks slightly pink in your swatch which is why it probably looks "pinky" on, on me it looks "plumy". I love the color of legand, but it looks absolutely awful on me , so I gave up trying and gave it a 2nd home. Superwahz and Annika I loved all of your looks today.

Teakie looks awesome, how sad that it has been discontinued! Legend looks like it could follow in line after Velocity and Radiant; Radiant being a darker and more coppery version of Velocity. Honey is definitely a color I have to get, it looks just like the kind of gold I love! Thank you for posting those pictures!

So I got Luxe, because I am a weak weak person.


Turns out that just like I imagined it looks a lot like Velocity, only darker. In the pictures I wear them together, Velocity on inner 1/2 and Luxe on outer.


I also got a sample of Palace which freaked me out when I opened the jar but actually is very pretty on when applied *very carefully* with a fiber-optic brush. A lighter version of that would be awesome!

Sooooo pretty Anika!We have similar eyecolor, just mine is deeper in color with a honeycolored ring around the pupill.

I think those two colors would suit me too!

Just saw this thread *after* I ordered Luxe, while being proud owner of Velocity. Hehe, pays (or costs?) to be absent minded, and as it turns out, there is a difference

I just got velocity today, haven't even had a chance to swatch yet though! I need to do some potential pairing.
