Swatch for Habanera/other aqua-turqoise colours?

Post by pipari » Sun Mar 21, 2010 4:54 am

I didn't find, could you please tell me if there is any. Also turqoises/aquatics combined with browns I'd like to find.
I have dark blue eyes myself, would like opinions if those colours would suit me at all, for some reason dark/muted turqoise in general seems to catch my eye at the moment.
Any help is much appriciated!

I don't have swatches, but Lunar/Martian combo seems like what you're looking for. Poly also might be a good choice.

Yes, I second the Lunar suggestion.

How does Lunar differ from Habanera?
I'd like it to be as matte as possible and definitely cool-based (well turqoises often are :)
Habanera looks nice on the chart, will check Lunar too.
Thank you!

The sun isn't the best today, it keeps trying to rain, but I think I caught just enough to do some swatches for you! All but the last one are in light from the window (unfortunately just cloudly light, no direct sunlight). The last pic is indoors. It looks totally different on my 2 monitors, on one it looks fine, the other it looks blurry and like the colors are oversaturated. The more pigmented swatches are with a damp brush (foiled), the lighter ones are lightly brushed on to show how they appear blended.

You can't see it well in photos but Martian shimmers turquoise, especially when foiled over a dark liner. Twister, Sizzle, and Lunar look really similar in photos but they are quite different. Twister has more silver, Sizzle is more golden, and Lunar has a brownish plum undertone which you can see in the pics where it's blended out. I also included Whipped Cream for a reference color, if you don't have it, well, it's basically shimmery white. I just got Peacock, it's a deep blue-green cream liner. I was looking for a deep turqouise cream shadow and it's not quite as vibrant and iridesent as I'd like, but I'm thinking it'll look awesome paired with the other colors, so I plan on keeping it! I added Film Noir cream liner to show the difference in tone. Also, I wear Bewitched with the blue/greens a lot so I added it to the mix.

Thank you so much Superwahz!!
Lunar looks something I need along with Martian, and Martian also looks like a colour I could wear alone near the lashline just for a quick make-up.
Have to have them ;)
