Firming moisturizer help
I just got a sample of the firming moisturizer, and it makes my face feel really dry. Is that how it is supposed to be? Should I be putting something on top or under? I know that it doesn't work with the serums..so I'm really confused. It doesn't feel very moisturizing right now haha but I bet I'm doing something wrong!

Re: Firming moisturizer help
Hi,
I do hope you persevere with the SN skin care because between the Microdermabrasion Cream, Super Serum & Intensive Firmng Moisturiser they have made the most positive difference to my skin I've ever noticed
.
The texture of the 'gelled' moisturisers SN makes took a bit of getting used to for me, particularly if you're accustomed to thick creams
. They don't leave any sort of film on your skin so I thought at first that my skin was 'dry' (it wasn't, just that it was such a different experience to what I'd used before). I find that 2 pumps from the bottle is more than enough (1 doesn't quite do it though) - although I did find the Firming moisturiser was not quite moisturising enough for me so switched to the intensive variant which is much better
.
I have not had a problem using the moisturisers over SN serums if you wanted to give one of them a try, in fact I use the Super Serum every day (& evening too); I apply my serum, let it sink in (clean my teeth or something whilst waiting) then apply the firming moisturiser on top - I've never experienced any kind of rolling, pilling etc when applied like this. To make extra sure, I wash my & dry my hands between applying the moisturiser & serum and this has done the trick for me.

Re: Firming moisturizer help
There are ingredients in the Firming Moisturizer that do just that....they will tighten/firm your skin a bit. Have you tried the Intensive Moisturizer? It is formulated with heavier oils and might be more to your liking. Firming Moisturizer is made with the lighter oils.
I agree with what Kitten said about the gelled formulations being slightly different than what you are used to. Most moisturizers don't really hydrate the skin, they just seal moisture in. There really are better ways to get hydration into your skin than a moisturizer. The combination of a hydrating serum like Rose or Oat serum with one of the moisturizers works well. Also.....drink some water, too!

Re: Firming moisturizer help
Ok, this is making more sense now! I did read in another thread that the point of a moisturizer is to act a sealant..but I guess I'm so used to the idea of a moisturizer HAHA I def will not be giving up on SN skin care products bc I really can see a difference in the short time that I have been using it.
My skin gets a papery feel to it when I put on the firming moisturizer, so despite that, it is still getting moisturized? Or..moisture is getting sealed in?
As for serums, I have Super Serum, which I really like and the Oil Control Serum, which I also like! But, since I can't use them with the firming moisturizer, I use them during the day and firming at night. Is there anything that I can put under the Firming? Last night, I put a little Vit E oil on top of the firming, and it don't do much for the papery feeling.
I guess my main thing is that that at night, my face just does not feel moisturized, but as long as it actually is, I'm fine and will adjust. Btw, my skin is really dry with an extremely oily t-zone

Re: Firming moisturizer help
I have used Super Serum, but I don't really have experience with the Oil Control one. I have found that my skin tends to need more hydration than Super Serum alone. I look at Super Serum as more of a treatment serum than a hydrating one. I do at times layer serums. I think our most hydrating serum is the Oat. (So Cleanse, Tone, Super Serum, Oat Serum, Moisturizer) The serums should not contribute to oil on the skin as they are water based. Also, if you are very dry, I really do recommend a sample of the Intensive Moisturizer, and maybe even the Emu or Raspberry Moisturizers.

Re: Firming moisturizer help
THe steps that Jen just listed are exactly what I do, and I layer serums both at noc and in the morning. I cleanse then since I don't tone I apply my 1st layer of serums. Super serum during the day , allow it to soak in and then apply the Oat serum, when it has soaked in , I apply moisturizer. At night it is the same routine, except that since I am using a cream based retinal product, I cleanse , apply it, allow to soak in and then apply the Oat serum. My skin is soft and supple and my makeup applies smoothly.
