FD&C colors, ultramarines, ferric ferrocyanide

Post by extemter » Wed Nov 17, 2010 11:25 pm

"FD&C colors" is how Karen identifies dyes in her ingredients lists. Ultramarines and ferric ferrocyanide are not dyes.

FD&C is an abbreviation for the the United States Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, which is a set of laws passed by Congress in 1938 giving authority to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to oversee the safety of food, drugs, and cosmetics. (source: wikipedia)
