How many shades from winter to summer?

I am currently an almost perfect G30 in the cream foundation, but how many shades darker should I buy for summer?

It's a little bit hard to tell from the different lighting in the pics, but I think I'm similar to your Oct tan coloring, and I'm using G50 right now. You could always get some of the darker samples to keep on hand and try as you get more sun.

Do the darker golden shades come across as super yellow/orange? my skintone is actually a pale olive so some of the golden/warm tones can look orange on me while the neutrals look ashy

I am more olive than golden too. When I first swipe G50 on, it looks very yellow. But once I blend, that goes away. G40 wasn't quite as yellow, but was just a little too light and washed me out. I haven't tried anything darker than G50, but plan on ordering some samples for summer!
