Icash and Mikie, I need to join as a sister on this also, My one of my maternal aunt's died from Breast Cancer when she was still in her mid 40's and my mom's only living sister had a double mastectomy due to sever fibroitc disease, only to get breast cancer in the 5% remaining breast tissue. She is ok, her MD told her that had my mother still been alive that she would have mostly likely suffered from Breast Cancer also. In addition, one of the nurse's that I work with had a mastectomy and radiation last year due to this horrible disease.

I get checked regularly and have a very strong voice when making those same recommendations to others. I also am a regular contributor to breast cancer fund raisers. and am wearing my pink ribbon on my name tag at work. We just completed raising money for the Lee Denim Day, which is a fund raiser that Lee jeans does that allows people to wear there jeans to work if they make a contribution to their national Breast Cancer Awareness programs.

Furbabies , mineral makeup as hockey pucks, and breast cancer, who would have ever thought.

Hi, Hollis,
I'm sure we have many more sisters out there, and I hope we can reach those who are not vigilant to do all they can to protect themselves. Let's all make this month COUNT for bc awareness. God bless. Lauren

Good morning, sisters in mmu, hockeypucks and bc awareness! Just had a "light bulb" moment. Since the BC awareness ribbon is pink, how about a promotion on the pink shadows, blushes and lippies this month? Just a little one? Pleeeeeaaaase? L.

I second that idea, and it would be super simple thing to do.

Karen--
Yes, you'll obviously need to use what you can find. But it might be cool to do a Black Hills inspired palette and create those colors by blending with other pigments. KWIM?

I love all the ideas here- they're all wonderful. I don't think we can swing a sale at the moment- Jamie just put in her 2 weeks notice- she's been here since the beginning and I'm going to miss her- and the price of silk (and lots of other things) has increased in the past few months.

Back to planning...hopefully the gold will get here tomorrow, and I'll be able to turn it into lipstick!

Colors For A Cause doesn't need to be a Sale to be *supported*. That's my take on it. Hmmm....maybe even a Reverse Sale with a special edition pink shade...& special-effects finishers to make it warm/cool...with a bundled price & a blurb that x of the proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or whatever?

A Black Hills Gold inspired palette sounds *amazing*!

Sorry about Jamie's leaving! Hope she's moving on & will do well at whatever she's undertaking. Employees leaving..that's a toughie to deal with. Can you imagine ~ a woman I personally hired Feb.14th,1977 STILL works for me? We've grown old together,ROFL!!!

Karen, I think that Mikie's idea of a reverse sale sounds great, and the idea of a Black Hills inspired palette sounds very intriging. I have a membership in a camping resort community just out side of Rapid City, South Dakota, and look forward to going there every year, so I naturally love Black Hill's gold jeweler, so my guess is if you can pull it off, I'm buying it.
Sorry to hear about Jamie, I know you will miss her.

Mikie, I would hope that your employee of 31 is has made it to friend status as well as long time employee, these days that is an exceptional length of time, most people not only change jobs, but usually change carriers at least twice.
