Hi JenW

OK so I have worn the warm gold mix all day today, you are right, the colour does darken a bit as you wear it....and I am really happy with how it has worn today.

I am going to let curiosity get the better of me and order some yellow booster for the olive, because I think that could be a go as well.

Thank you for the advice re powders etc, I will try some samples, and post on another area, I think it's great to have this forum, a community of like-minded cosmetic fanatics, like me!

Thanks again for your prompt response.

Another update that might help someone else.....

I decided today (because we were blessed with sunshine, so good daylight for testing SN foundation mixtures) that instead of waiting for the yellow booster to turn up, I would some buttery gold in the 1:14 olive that I made the other day.

This was because I had read that another member (and now cannot remember who) had done something like this, she said 'and a smidge of buttery gold'. I guess I put a third of a scoop in, no more.

Well I have to say this worked really well! :)

So, I can now use both the shades I have made, so far.

I guess my message is that you can come to a great shade in more than one way. If the mix you have made isn't quite right, you can tweak it....or use it a different time from now, like in the evening or if/when you get a light tan.
SN to me is all about the perfect ability to 'be a master of your own foundation creation'...how great is that?!!

I'm in love....x

It most likely has to do with the size. You can try to send a pic via email to
colorquestions.silkmakeup at gmail dot com.

I do think you are likely to fall in the Olive category, though. I would still get a sample kit. Warm Gold might be better, as well as Buttery Gold.

I was wondering if you could tell me how to mix my foundation. Lucy Minerals Light is basically my perfect match. I would be soooo happy if you could tell me how to get that color using Silk Naturals bases. I have tried just ebony with the ivory base, and just warm gold with the ivory base and neither match. Ebony is a little too pink, and warm gold a little too yellow. I can get the right intensity, but not color.

Since the one is too pink and the other too yellow, I think Olive might work.....probably 1 scoop color to about 11+ white.

I never would have thought olive, but 12 ivory to 1 olive matches exactly, so I guess I learned something. Thank you, now off to put olive base in the shopping cart. :D

I would try Buttery Gold at about 1:5 or 6. If you have tried something close, it might help to know what you have tried and how it was wrong. Often, I can only guess about a foundation shade from another company.

I have tried ebony and warm gold with the heavy base and it almost came out but I needed a little tiny bit more peach then I tried all of them mixed together(I was desperate! it came out too ashy but if I put more color it was just too brown) with the base then I ran out and thats when I did the ebony and warm gold with the heavy base I had ran out of the ivory base and I dont have the peach so I figured the ebony would have peach in it and like I said almost. I was a close match to sandy medium in everyday minerals but it was too dark thanks again for any help you have I really love to find my receipe because I like this company
