Ok Jen - I have been playing around with different foundation finishes. In this picture I used Medium 1:8 Warm Gold....what do you think? I wanted to take a picture outside and that is why I am trying to keep my eyes open in the sunlight and it looks like I have major bags....anyway do you like the warm gold? Should I show you a pic of ebony? a mix? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Babydoll-
I think it looks really good....there really is not a difference in color between your chest and neck. It looks very natural from this angle. (I was always one of those to drag a mirror to the best lighted spot in my house and analyze every angle....... )
Do you feel it is a good match, or do you think it needs a tweak? You are the one who needs to be happy with the color.

When I first put it on it looks a little white, but a little while later it really meshes with my skin. I am loving the foundation it is FANTASTIC. I tried the ebony the other day and it looked good too...so maybe I am just lucky and can do either one LOL!!

hey jen and karen...
just wanted to bring up something that i think will make things easier for all the new gals here ordering foundation samples and looking for their match...
i still notice that if you go to the "foundation" sidebar tab and click the "samples" subheading, a different set of products shows up than if you go to the "samples" sidebar tab and click the "foundation" subheading. shouldn't they show the same thing? i just think the white base only kits, the 5 base color only kit, and the individual samples of the whites and colored should be visible if you access it from the foundation tab.
does that make any sense? i'm horrible at explaining things sometimes...
thanks gals, you're the best.

You are absolutely right. I will see what I can do to get those two pages in synch. Thank you for the suggestion. If I don't get to it until after the Holiday release, I am sure you will understand.

Hi everybody I'm new here. I've been wearing mineral makeup for almost two years now and I really love it! I live in Hong Kong and there are not a lot of choices here so I haven't really tried a lot of brands, right now i'm kind of running out of my old 'stock' and I was going to repurchase some and I've heard many good reviews of SN, I really want to give it a try... (plus it ships internationally!)
However, given that I live outside of the States, it is kind of important for me to know quite specifically what I should be purchasing, because of the time and money involved

So I was hoping if you could give me some advice!
I never know how to describe my skin tone. All I can say is I'm Asian but I'm pretty light for an Asian. I don't tan and burn really easily. If I don't put makeup on, I look kind of sickly. I also have occasional breakouts so my skin color tends to be a little reddish and uneven at times.
Have taken a couple of pictures of my skin tone, really hope you'll be able to help me!
This is my face under natural light:

Some foundation swatches on my face
From ear: 1. EDM Golden Fair (a tad too light), 2. BM Light (this is what I am wearing daily right now... it doesn't look that dark when I apply it over my face... probably just a problem with how I swatched it) 3. EDM Olive Fair (also a tad too light) 4. EDM Light Medium (hm turned out darker than when I applied it partially on my face). There is also a swatch right across the top of these four swatches: 5. BM Fairly Light (it is lighter than what I would've liked when applied full-face; BM light fits me better in comparison)

You're going to need a second opinion from Jen - it's either my monitor or my eyes, but you look both kind of olive and kind of buttery gold to me. Probably one or the other would suit, but let's let Jen have a look - I could be off here.

I can't exactly predict which color will be perfect for you. Pictures only give me about half of the information I need. I mostly am good at guessing.
Since you are overseas, I do recommend the sample kit with all ofthe bases. Since you are in the fair range, sometimes the undertones get lightened, too, in the blending depending on the amount of Ivory. It is almost the easiest to determine the color your foundation is missing when you have it in full face. Golden Fair seems to be in line with your skintone and I feel the BE Light is too dark. The Olive Fair is definitely missing yellow. The Light Medium is too cool toned.
I really think you will be in the Warm Gold, Buttery Gold range. Some Asian customers add a little Ebony in their formula, too, so I really can't rule that one out completely. Try Buttery Gold 1:9ish, and then we can work from there. Since you are overseas, I do recommend an extra sample pouch of Ivory, along with a kit that includes all of the base colors. I can't really recommend anything larger sized than that until you are sure the foundation works for you.
