dandy-
The forehead looks good. It really is a bit of trial and error, but at least you have the means to change it the way it needs changing. Let us know how the full face goes.

Hi Jen,
I don't post here often, but definitely lurk around here a lot. I have been using SN shadows and lippies for a couple of years and am a complete convert. I am just finishing my stash of EDM base and going to give mixing my own a try. I hear such great things about the finish and coverage.
I am hoping for some of your great color matching expertise, (or anyone else who might be able to help). I have been using EDM's Olive Medium with a couple of samples jars of Soft Butter Peach thrown in and it is a perfect match.
I have always been terrible trying to figure out if I'm warm, neutral or olive. The only thing I know for sure is that I am not cool and true Olive toned foundations make me look like a cadaver. Just a little background information. I am half Korean and I would say I have light to medium skin tone. I rarely burn, but I do get pretty pale in the winter.
I have already ordered the Warm Gold kit in Medium coverage and mixed it 1WG to 4Ivory, which seems too light, before I completely mess it up I thought I would get some advice.
Thanks,
Susan

Hi Susan,
I really think you are pretty much on track. Warm Gold is a blend of Golden, Olive, and slight Peach undertones, and your mix at EDM had all of those things. You really can't judge by how it looks in the jar, try it on in good light (daylight is best)....if it looks too light, try mixing at 1:3. I think Buttery Gold will be too yellow, and Olive will not be yellow enough.

hi again, me with my full face this time

and it aint quite right... right light/dark i think ( it was 1 ebony 8 ivory) but lacks some gold or yellow or is a little to pink. i do have pink blush on but just on me apples

see how my neck has more yello, but my neck is also a good bit lighter than my face normally so have to find a middle ground.. not sure how to get that? first one is just as i did my mmu.. then 2nd one is after being out in hot car for 2 hours doing stuff. What do you think i should change?

dandy,
See...here is where it gets tricky. Your pics look good (pics only tell you so much), but the more specific you can be about what you think is off, the better we can fix it. If it needs yellow, try adding half a scoop Warm Gold plus 5 Ivory to another jar.....test it out. If the Warm Gold Mix is too yellow, add the two left over mixes together in as equal parts as possible.

I tried the warm today 10 ivory 1 warm gold and it looks really good i think! but maybe a touch too yellow, but only a touch and maybe a touch too dark, but then my face is darker naturally anyway than my neck.
What do you think?

dandy,
It looks good. I do think you are right that it is a tad dark......lightening it by a scoop or two of Ivory might solve the yellow problem, too. If not, we will do some color blend of Warm Gold and Ebony.

*wave* HI dandy and jackie!!!
I'm glad I stumbled across this thread before I posted my own. I'm the same shade as you are Dandy and I have the same problem you seem to be having, in that my skin is a little bit pink but still has some yellow to it. Most store brands are either way too pink or way to yellow for me. So I'll copy all the suggestions that you were given
