Re: New Foundation Gumball
I really like this formula for winter, the only drawback for me is that it doesn't 'blur' the pores beside my nose quite as much as the heavy coverage formula I had been using. The silica in that makes my skin really dry in winter though, so I will stay with the gumball one. I think on other areas of my face this one looks nicer though, just doesn't hide my ugly crater like pores!

Re: New Foundation Gumball
I just received mine, and am going to try it out tomorrow, but was wondering how people are applying it wet. Do you wet a brush? Which brush would you suggest? I am open to any recommendations. Thanks!

I've read of a few way to go about wet application of mineral foundation:Ladybug914 wrote:I just received mine, and am going to try it out tomorrow, but was wondering how people are applying it wet. Do you wet a brush? Which brush would you suggest? I am open to any recommendations. Thanks!
1. Pick up the foundation with your kabuki brush, then spritz it with hydrosol/rosewater and buff it into the skin.
2. Mix with pure water into a creamy paste and apply it with a cosmetic sponge like a liquid foundation. Or apply it with a complexion brush, or your fingers.
3. My approach is to put the foundation in a swirly bowl, then wet my fiber optic brush with the alcohol free rose toner I love (makes my skin soft and fresh), and then swirl the wet brush into the foundation til a creamy paste is formed. Then I brush on the foundation with the fiber optic brush, adding a little more liquid as needed to keep the consistency creamy and easy to apply. I use a concealer brush to get the smaller spots like around my nose, mouth, eyes, etc... Then my fingers to smooth things out along my hairline, like I would with a regular liquid foundation.
Hope that helps Ladybug! Let us know which way you try, I'm always interested to know what method works for others!

Tried it wet this evening, love it so far, flawless look. needed just 8 scoops of ebony for the whole bag of ivory. Will try dry tomorrow and hopefully be as satisfied.

I am wearing it dry today and I love it! I put it on without any primer or any finisher, and I am loving how it looks and feels.

I will elaborate later when I have more time, but I love the new foundation gumball and will worship the ground you walk on if you make it permanent, Karen.

This is officially my new favorite foundation!
I've tried it both wet and dry, and while it performed nicely both ways, I've found that I prefer a combination of the two methods. I apply it dry and then mist my entire face with a liquid, such as water or the Strawberry Spritz.
Of all of the SN foundation formulas that I have tried, this one seems to be the most "goof-proof". For some reason this seems to mix better than the other formulas and it was easier to "find" the perfect shade. It blends beautifully, and although it feels super light, it almost rivals the Heavy Coverage formula when applied with a flatop brush.
Pretty please make this one permanent!

Since the regular foundation is too drying for me in winter, this gumball one sounds just like the ticket for me! (and for looooot of everyone else also it seems...)
Hmm, with all the raves I have a sneaky suspicion Karen is going to listen to us... ..LOL!!!

Re: New Foundation Gumball
I've worn the foundation both dry & wet (followed superwahz's method, but I wet the brush with strawberry spritz), over sunscreen, without primer or finishing powders. The effect from wet application is amazing, smooth & creamy. this is the very first time I'd worn mmu wet... I've been wearing glasses the past few days and I notice that the glasses' nose rest did not create an ugly mark on my face (not sure if you get what I meant). When I smile, I see less lines around my eyes and sides of nose. pretty good coverage without cakiness. It lasted pretty well (longer if applied wet), my oils pushed through only after 8-9 hrs. I was pretty oily on my t-zone after 14 hrs (no touchups, think I blotted once in the afternoon) but I don't think any make-up will stay oil-free on me after such long hours.
What I didn't like about the foundation (either wet or dry) is that it didn't mask my pores, and it seems to turn slightly orange on me (I don't get this with the silk formula even if my mix was too dark). I'd try it with the perfecting powder or blur powder to see if they would hide my pores... if this doesn't work, then this foundie is not likely something I would buy...

Re: New Foundation Gumball
That is sort of the downside of a foundation without silica- no oil control, or pore blurring. The upside is the wet application, and it's a bit friendlier to dry skin.
So I guess it needs a name...and I haven't come up with anything really great. Any ideas?
