That really is an exceptional length of time- amazing. I have a few tricks and surprises up my sleeve- made 6 things today (keeping it a secret-I have to "sleep on it" when I make new colors, sometimes it takes me a few days until they feel "ready").

The special effects finisher- I'm lost- but very interested in the idea. Is it an eye shadow, or a face powder??? I want it!

Guess what I was thinking of as a special effects finisher/highlight/overlay is a sheer wash (like Hint, lol, or HighBeam) but w/fairydust...very fine golden sparkles/silver sparkles/copper sparkles (not all in one,ROFL)... Black Hills Gold in mmu...lippies,tooooooooooo, like your sheer gloss w/shimmer. ANY color could be jazzed up/changed/*made* more workable w/skintone by playing w/them. I should've substituted shimmer for sparkles but you get my drift. You know how the BB palette (Stonewashed Nudes) *looks* sooooo ho-hum *until you put them on* & discover all the nuances....well, imagine being able to perk up/change the warmth factor/add complexity w/any color at hand. Cellophanes w/shimmer.

OK, gals, play with me/off these ramblings...together we can inspire Karen... :D

They're done!! I finished all of the colors- there's 5 in all- 3 eye shadows, Live, Laugh, Love- loosely inspired by Black Hills Gold and Mikie's signature, and 2 lippies.

After going to all of the big department stores in NYC last week I really came away inspired to make something extra super special. The Kanebo lipstick I bought had pure gold- but the rest of the ingredients were all petroleum derived (I think they did it for shelf life), so it wasn't that "special" as far as lippie formulas go- ELF or drug store lippies have similar ingredients.

So- when I got back- I tweaked our regular lipstick formula to make it extra special. I added cranberry seed oil, and passionfruit oil- both feel wonderful on,and make your lips super soft. They're also some of the world's most expensive oils (imagine pressing tiny little cranberry seeds)- so between those, and the 23k Italian gold,it's about as luxe as I can make it (I skipped the caviar extract like the La Prairie lippie). Then I added the gold-there's an entire book of gold leaf in each batch. Then all day Saturday I sewed little black velvet sheaths- tied with a pink ribbon bow- to put each lippie in.

I'm exhausted at the moment- but I'll post here when I get them on the site- most likely tomorrow afternoon.

I can’t wait! Thanks for not putting fish eggs in them, some things I just don’t want in makeup.;)

I agree, I would much rather have cranberry oil and passionfruit oil than fish eggs. Something aren't meant to be in makeup and caviar is one of them.

Karen, when are the colors for a cause going to be released, I can hardly wait to see them , since know that they will be wonderful as always.

They look lovely.

I wanted to add the lippies so we can view the pretty colors in one spot.

Oooh, they are gorgeous.
Now I'm starting to wonder what blush would go nicely with them.
