fragrance dupes!!!
Re: fragrance dupes!!!
I have a pure pink grapefruit- it's very lush, and juicy- all of the pink grapefruit lovers in the shop picked this one as their favorite (I ordered about 5 different pink grapefruit oils). I haven't smelled the TBS one, so I'm not sure if it's a dupe, but the one that we're coming out with is gorgeous. Fingers crossed we'll also have Satsuma, and a long ago discontinued one (but one of my favorites) TBS Of a Woman- a white floral musk.

Okay, how about Bath and Body Works Savannah Bee Blackberry Honey? It was available in soap and lotion for awhile but it wasn't popular (cost too much) so it was discontinued. I just loved it.

Apparently it is still available in limited product selection at the above link... but I really loved the hand soap and I'd be excited to have other products.
I don't know if the body butter at that link smells the same but it's probably close to the one BBW used to carry.

Ooh thanks karen, I will definitely be trying the Pink Grapefruit scent. =)
But do get your lovely nose into some TBS - in many years of adoring the fragrance, somehow theirs is the one I fall in love with over and over with.
Can't wait for the release!

Karen,
I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love the solid fragrances that came out. They are awesome...I got samples of Tahiti, Of a Woman, and Nectarine Blossom and Honey and they are lovely. I also got the full size Vera Wang, which is awesome as well. I will be adding the full size ones to my wishlist and well, as some other samples of the solids. I love the portability of these...Who really wants to lug around a bottle of perfume in their purse. Although, I have been known to do it.
I requested Nanette Lepore previously...I hope you will consider it for the future, as it is one of my fav's

Re: fragrance dupes!!!
I think I posted it in another thread, just wanna put it over here too: I would love to have Angel Lily from T. M.
I also asked for a fig one, like Cielo, but have since tried other figs, and like them much more: Jo Malone's Wild Fig Cassis (smells like even man could wear it) and Diptyke's Phylosikos (very 'green' smelling and not too sweet).
New addition, indeed
I ordered all the lady perfume samples, but I made a mistake to store them together for a day, and now somehow all of them kinda smell like the chocolate lovers' one, whoops. Separated and waiting to try them all!

Re: fragrance dupes!!!
I'm amazed at how the Tahiti one develops as it warms on the body. It starts all innocent, gentle and sweet (not sugary sweet but naive sweet) and as it warms it envelopes the skin with the soft, graceful scent of a lady. It made me think of the phrase 'scent of a woman' but this scent is a lady who wears real silk stocking and never hurries. It's still the clean, airy scent of Monoi but captured and taken home to the city and worn by a lady who can wear the elegance of pearls and the liberty of a tropical paradise all at the same time.
Okay, so that's airy fairy nonsense, but it's how it made me feel and I love the wistful identity a new scent gives. That one fired the imagination! *big smile*

Helena- you should be an ad copywriter- really, honestly- you were born to do that. If you're ever looking for something to do- check out a site like Guru.com or Get a Freelancer- I bet you could do phenominally well. I mean- "heart throb is the reason God gave us eyelids"- who writes stuff like that? Wow.
Cool on the Wild Fig and Cassis- that one's not a problem at all, and it's wonderful. I'm just about getting ready to place another order for supplies- so there are some ones that will take form over the coming weeks (it takes weeks to make sure they mellow correctly- I have one that starts out smelling downright terrible, but settles into something gorgeous and lovely). I'm working on a clone of Nanette Lapore- it may be a while...most of the clones we get as concentrated fragrance oils because the clones are a lot more close than I can do here in the shop. I can't find Nanette anywhere but I have some feelers and requests out with some of the fragrance houses. If push comes to shove we can send a sample to a place that will dupe anything- but they make you buy 5 pounds of fragrance oil-which is lot. You could bathe in it everyday from here to eternity, and never use it up.
These perfumes are soo addicting to make- I easily have 300 oils, and still feel the need/desire to order more!
Is Simply by Clinique a very light almost faint scent?

Hi Karen,
Clinique's 'Simply' is absolutely gorgeous - I cannot for the life of me describe fragrances (or colours for that matter - better get Helena on the case
) but it is a warm, mellow almost comforting scent, sounds disgusting but almost has a touch of licorice/aniseed in there too. I am down to the last couple of squirts in my bottle so only use it for very special occassions so I do hope you can clone it!

Me too!!! I have a bottle that I use very sparingly. It is a hard scent to describe, and actually was not a scent I would have choosen for myself, but someone gave it to me as a Christmas present and then I was hooked.

Re: fragrance dupes!!!
i have two requests for dupes but i haven't got high hopes for either of them, as neither of them are actually purfumes at all. I would cry if you could dupe them, Karen. Tears of happiness. True.
The first is the scent of Lush charity pot hand and body moisturiser.
http://www.lushusa.com/shop/products/bo ... harity-pot
Its scent comes from ylang ylang, geranium and marigold essential oils. But i think possibly other things in the lotion contribute to the scent. Whenever i have this on people actively sniff me and say i smell nice.
the other is the scent of Molton Brown naran ji hand lotion.
http://www.moltonbrown.com/hand-wash-an ... otion.html
It smells like orange blossom, and it's lovely. It's my favourite smell in the entire world, and just smelling it makes me happy. I have lots of good memories connected to this smell.
I don't know if it would be possible to dupe the fragrances from moisturisers but i would be so, so happy if you could.
