Oh no!!!! She should be fine- I know they've been eaten by quite a few dogs- including Sam's. There is a lot of oil in them, so if it's a really small dog she might get an upset tummy, but other than that I know without a doubt that the balms, and the Kisser Slickers are dog safe in small quantities.

Bitsy is a balm fiend, and if I leave laundry on the floor she'll search my pants pockets looking for stray tubes. I've been known to give them a little taste if I'm putting some on. I do keep the Pumpkin Salve well away from them though because it has a lot of grapeseed oil in it, and anything grape isn't good for dogs. She did sneak a tube off my nightstand, and is fine, but I took it away from her pretty quickly so she didn't get much of it. Cats can't have the Lemon Pumpkin Salve at all because of the lemon essential oil- their livers can't process the EO's.

The upside is their coats are gorgeous. Bitsy's favorite is the chocolate cherry- she carried that tube around for days and completely destroyed it so she could get every last bit out of it. They say to put a teaspoon of olive oil on their food in the winter to help with their skin- I figure this is close enough.

Frckls- did you check out Tango?? It's a really gorgeous deep red.

LOL!! I can't help laughing loudly reading Karen's dogs' stories! My fiendish sneaky little cocker has been known for his rascal clownish behaviors, so I've developed a pretty quick reflex in pulling things away from him or him away from things. I've seen him sniffing around my scattered makeups and shoving down my traincase each time I'm toying with my makeups. I tried to distract him with bones and biscuits, but biscuits are down in one gulp, and bones are too boring for him compared to lipsticks, eyeliner pencils and eyeshadow jars. They are also my cats' favorite alternative toys, especially YOUR lipstick, Karen! One of them is such a glutton and can't stand sweet smell of thins and foods.

Tango is a kinda too red from what I meant. Maybe Cassis with weeee bit smidge of blue in it, to create a more purplish color. Or maybe the opaque version of Bitten? I've been eyeing Black Dahlia and Cassis, and might include them in my next order, along with the skincare fullsizes. Hmmmm, I'm still reserving spots for Crazy Love and Showstopper, and a couple corals/oranges, though. Oh man, I've never splurged this much on makeup before Silk Naturals!

My order just arrived and I am very excited to try out my new colors once I am out of the shower. But, I had to report that I am completely smitten with the scent of the Cherry Blossom Body Butter! It is delicious!

Did anyone get the sunless tanner? I am dying to know if it smells like most.

I just had to add to this . . . when I was a kid, we had grape vines stretching across the back yard. We also had dogs in the back yard, including a Cocker Spaniel named Topper. In the summer, he loved to stretch out underneath the grape vines, plucking grapes and EATING them!!! He must have developed a tolerance for grapes because he lived to a ripe old age! :D

It is a gel...and it really doesn't smell like much of anything in the bottle. I have not tried it on my skin, yet. As to whether it smells like others.....I have not had one of the commercial ones in quite some time, and I don't remember exactly how they smelled except I remember a suntan lotion smell to cover up a chemically hot scent...kind of like a sunburn would smell.

Yes, my dog eats lippies. For the most part, my SN lippies are out of reach (though i think she got a favorite flavored balm at some point...and i definitely have a liquid wand with a dented tube). She usually gets Burt's Bees lipbalms and was particularly fond of their pomegranate version. There's a few she takes because she really wants them (flavored), but usually she takes them as a sort of punishment- if it's on the end table and she wants me to play and i'm ignoring her she'll hover over the lippie, look at me, look at the lippie, look back at me and whine. Then she'll pick it up, look at me again, and whine again. Then she'll come stand by my feet with it and whine. If at this point I have not stopped whatever I was doing to play with her, she will run off with said lippie and devour it.

I don't really think it smells. I did actually lift my arm up and smell it when applying just to see and it might have some light slightly ingredient-y smell, but to me it's an unscented gel. I got a nice even light tan addition over the ever so slight tan i already have from spending every warm day i can get outside.
Angie wrote:Ohh, the collection looks fantastic. Karen, would you consider making the lip glazes without menthol in future? Maybe just one or two. They sound great and I would like to try one, but I don't like anything tingly. Thanks.
For what it's worth, these really aren't particularly tingly. They are less tingly than a burt's bees lipbalm at any rate. It's more of a back note hint of mint kind of deal than a tingle.
frckls wrote:Btw, now that Karen has fulfilled my wish for bright pop pink lippies, I wonder if she will take into consideration my request for the perfect Burgundy (purple-red wine) lippie......
I've been looking for the same thing. Tango is a really nice fun red though. It may be my new favorite red. It's bold but very wearable- gives me a bit of a pin-up girl red.
