Tinted moisturizer?

Anyone tried mixing their day face moisturizer with the foundation? Wondering if it works, and what would be the ratio? I can usually do with a light layer of coverage. It would save me some time in the morning :)

A while back I tried premixing my eye cream with a powder concealer. The only thing that happend was that my eye cream demulsified. It separated and was unusable.

I would definitely give it a try, but go with small amounts first!!!!
I think Mikie does this, but she mixes as she puts it on. Oh, Mikie!!!!! :)

Present & accounted for! :-)

I do This ~ sprinkle my SN mix in my palm, cup my hand & then do a few spritzes with a moisture spray, blend & then slap it on with my fingers! Takes seconds. I am careful to cup my fingers 1st so as not to hit the powder with a blast of fine spray full-on, if you know what I mean.

I've mixed many times with various moisturizers, or w/aloe, or even just blended w/oil & moisture spritz, but I do not premix w/the concoctions.

If you sprinkle the same amt in your palm that you'd normally sprinkle into a swirly dish, that's the proportion.

So what is that moisture spray? Do you have your own recipe?

What I use is not "all natural"...I was cured of "all natural" by having a much-beloved & trusted vendor's product go *bad* ~ & I used it daily. I'd gotten halfway through the bottle & the pump wasn't working well ~ took off the top to stir ~ & found MOLD ~ ICK!!!!! Having almost NO sense of smell, I was not *aware* of it....THAT cured me. Now the only things I'll use w/o preservatives = emu oil or squalane (olive-derived). The spritz is SeaPlasma by Focus21. I buy a huge bottle of it, throw in a few drops of tea tree oil, & that's my moisture spritz. I use it lavishly (dry skin) & also use it on hair *&* mix it with my hair products. It works for me.

I recently have been mixing my full-coverage foundation with my moisturizer/spf ~ works great & is jiffy-quick. Have had a BAD bug the last 2 wks (2 types of antibiotics) so would NOT use any brushes on my face at all ~ so the mixing saved me.

Can you imagine *ME* not being able to use eye shadow? Well, I *did* cheat & pat it on but NO MASCARA :o ~ can't WAIT to get back to normal.

Give Aloe Vera gel a try! It works for me when I want a sheer coverage base, and alot of girls who use Mineral Makeup swear by it. Also, Jane Iredale's liquid minerals is essentially mineral beads suspended in Aloe Vera Gel. There are other things mixed in (like glycerin for slip and lavender) but the main ingredient is Aloe Vera gel.

Oh I must warn you an interesting side effect of using AVG is that at first, appliaction will look very sheer. But as the gel dries, the coverage appears and looks matte. But when your skin's heat and oils interact with it it developes further to a glowy look. Usually I slap it on, wander around getting dressed, have my coffee then go back and see if I need more coverage. If you have streaks, you buff them away with a brush. =)

I swear I'm making it sound like its more trouble than it is!

Hope that works for you. Do tell me how it goes.

Cool, I'll try the AVG and let you know. I may even get some of that moisture spray, thanks for the tip!
BTW, I read that if you add some specific essential oils to all natural products, they tend to last longer. Tea tree oil, levander oil has antibacterial properties, and a very good option is grapefruit seed oil. Someone also just freezes the liquid in an ice cube tray, and defrost only a few day supply at a time.

That's interesting about the freezing thing-never heard that before. I use natural w/ natural derived preservative and have no issues, but I also refrigerate larger sizes and only keep 1oz. spray bottle out on counter. J.

I do the same with my hydrosols. I keep the large sizes in the fridge, and have a few 1 oz. spritzers that are on my vanity.
