Hi,

I am hoping for you advice from you lovlie ladies....I have been searching for the perfect nude lippie and have had little success. I have a drawer full of nude lip colors to show for it  The only SN lippie I have tried is Birthday Suit because everybody raved about it. Unfortunately, I look like some goth girl with that color on. It is just not atrractive....

I have Black hair and Brown eyes and tan easily. I am half Korean it that is helpful. I could never figure whether I am warm, cool or neutral. I have heard to check the color of your veins...if they are green then your warm, if blue then you are cool...maybe that is vice versa :? I think I am neutral, as I see green and blue veins. Maybe someone can enlighten me.

I would love any suggestions. It will give me a good reason to order Dolce, which I have been eyeing for a while now.

Thanks,
Susan

Since Birthday Suit was too brownish, I'd go with Breathless (pinkish). Others that might work are Jaybird (reddish) and Sweet Nothing (mauvish). They all have a little bit of color to go with the nude. Also, I am finding that 'my nude may be your bright pink' the more I recommend things and read others reviews. Nude means many things depending on who is asking.

I also think there should be way more categories than three (warm/neutral/cool). I am guessing you are a yellowish neutral.

JenW.

Thanks for the suggestions...I will check those colors out. I know I have looked at them, but can't remember what they look like. I do have Breathless, which is one of my favorites along with Berry Crush and Beloved, which is my new most favorite..... I was reading what you were saying about your nude being my bright pink I guess that is why we all have that drawer of lippies we never use  Although I have found that most of the SN lippies are universally flattering which is why I have so many! Thanks again...I am to go look at lippies!

Being a yellowish coolish person myself (and very pale) I have similar trouble with nudes.

I have tried the following SN colors:
Capricious (very pink, very bright, almost metallic, but not bad on me)
Rare Berry (pinkish red, very nice, but not nude on me)
Gold Blush (light peachy pink on me, not exactly nude but very subtle)
Rhonda (it's lavender but for some reason is the closest to nude I've ever tried, looks like a slight pink wash on me, very flattering, highly recommend for yellow undertones)
Foreplay (had to give it to a friend... it was that bad. Made me look kind of sick. It's very peach if you have yellow undertones)

Hope that helps. I am afraid to try nudes for the same reason. Let me know how it goes.

I am very yellow and Breathless is my favorite lippy so far.
But, to create for me the perfect nude lippy I first apply Sherry and then apply Pout.
It gives me the perfect my lips but better look. Not super pigmented and not flat.
Complete flat nudes make me look so blah but this is shimmery but not sparkly.
I never would have found this out as I wasn't fond of Sherry by looking at it online but I ordered it only because Sherry is my Mother's name.
Now Sherry layered with pout are my go to lip colors.
And Sherry really isn't bad for me on it's own I just seem to like the perk that Pout gives it.

Zeeb ~ It's funny how everyone is sooo different...I bought Rhonda because I thought I read somewhere that it worked real well on Asians gals, but it looks terrible on me. I can't even explain how awful it looked. I tried to make it work. I don't know if my lips are too pigmented and the red and lavender clashed, but it was a hot mess. I have Gold Blush which I like but it is very subtle. I want something a little more pigmented. I will let you know if Iam successful.

SeaPupp,

Thanks for the suggestions....I have had both Sherry and Pout on my wishlist for some time now. Maybe I will go ahead and buy them. I also have Breathless which is one of my faves. What do you think of Amour? For some reason I am drawn to it but I don't know if it will work for me? Anyone have any input? I tried to post a pic...not sure if it worked, but maybe this will help with colors.

I really love Amour. It is probably my favorite Kiss Bliss, and I have called it my 'amped up version of Birthday Suit'. It is a coppery bronze nude. I know you don't particularly care for Birthday Suit, but there is enough different going on in Amour from BDS that it might work, it is more coppery and bronze than flat brown. I am thinking Beloved might be more in your range than Amour as it is a pinkier redder version of Amour, but maybe not for everyday.

I think it would work...but Amour has a lot of shimmer to it- it's the most shimmery one we make. So- yes, if you like shimmer- but skip it if you're not a fan.
