help, gonna convert my MUZ

Hi JenW!
last year, when I was still wrapped up in the love that was EDM, I finally got my mom(Muz) to wear foundation for the first time, and Cool Multi-Tasking was her perfect match. (She lives in Palm Springs, so she is tan year round.) Well, she is out of foundation, and doesn't know how to use the new EDM website so she bought some mineral make-up from Ulta, but I don't want her using that stuff! I told her that no way in heck is she gonna support her current company. So I want to surprise her by mixing up a sample of SN for her to try. Could you give me a recipe that is close to EDM Cool Multi-tasking that I could work from, please? I know that I'll have to tweak it, but I need some sort of baseline. I have the ivory, and all three of the original colors.
Thanks in advance!

Maybe start with 5 or 6 white to 1 ebony? The colour looks a little odd on the monitor, though. Does it have a dash of peach in it or is it just weird photography?

Hi Rhys and thanks for your reply,
ALL the EDM colors look weird on the site! As far as undertones go, I have never been able to tell about them.....I just know that my Muz is considered a *winter* and I am considered an *autumn*. We both had our colors done back when it was all the rage about 25+ years ago. She is more *pink* and I am more *yellow* is what they told us. The only reason I asked Jen is because she is familiar with the EDM colors. I think the ratio of 5 or 6 to 1 sound like a good place to start, though. I just cringe at the idea of her wearing the cruddy Ulta brand MMU! I am taking my kids out for an overnighter next week to see grandma and grandpa, and it will be nice to give her something good for her!

Hey Laurie!
I just got back from vacation yesterday. Yes, I am familiar with that color. Multitasking was my first color that I setteld on, only to be followed by at least a few others that seemed to match better, and then moving on completely. It is a slightly pinkish cool tone. I would go with Ebony color base since it really probably falls the closest. A bit of peach might help, but since you don't have it, stick with the Ebony. There is not much yellow at all in the EM color (which is why it did not work for me). It is also pretty light, and lighter than I am now. I am at about a 1:7 in Ebony now, but wear 1:9 in the winter. I am thinking you need to be around 1:8-9, and maybe even lighter. She needs Date Bait!!!

Jen, hope your vacation was nice and relaxing!!!!
So you think I should probably do 1 white to 7-9 ebony. She actually has a pretty good year-round tan, so I am inclined to think that darker is better. Should I start out lighter and add dark, or is it easier to go darker and add light? Thanks for all your help, sweetie, and welcome back!
I probably will get her some dait bait, but they are leaving on an Alaskan cruise in a week, and I don't think it would arrive in time for her to get it, and have me show her how to use it.

I'm not Jen, but I definately think that it is easier to start dark and go lighter, rather than the other way around. I agree with Jen, your Muz need Dait Bait.

Yep- Do the 1Ebony to 7 White. You can always add more white.

UPDATE:
Well, got back from Palm Springs a while ago, and you girls sure do know your stuff!!! Yesterday afternoon Muz and I went out on the back patio out by the pool and started mixing us up some make-up,
Going with the theory that it is easier to go lighter than it is to go darker I started with 6 Ivory to I Ebony, and shook really hard. Got out my Q-tip, did a swatch right across her jawline, squinted real good, did it again, and Hot Dang! Spot On! First try! I gave her a LHK, had her put on a layer, and she was soooooo happy. Couldn't believe it! Perfect match! I tried to talk up the value of Dait Bait and primer and stuff, but I think if she has to do too much, she'll just give up. I'll just order her a sample when I get her her foundation.(Once she wears it for a week or so just to make sure her face likes it)
So, thanks Jen and Rhys,
Now, if you could just solve World Peace!
Laurie
Oh, Yes, I also passed both my Amour and Beloved lippies to her sice they both *pinked up* way too much on me! The colors are way gorgeous on her, and I don't have to feel frustrated that they don't really suit me!!!
That's recycling, isn't it???
