Dupes for medium-depth bright warm orange-red?

Post by EmSilkNat » Wed Sep 26, 2012 5:51 pm

I'm looking for a natural (set of) dupe(s) for the following for a gift.

Her favourite is a discontinued
Dior lipstick in Dynamic.

Second and third are:
Estee Lauder lipstick in Coral Sun, and
Clinique lipstick in Golden Brandy.

She is a mature woman who likes creamy lipsticks with considerable pigment (so not too sheer), not much shimmer, and that are not crazy bright orange or very deep and dark in tone. Light, complexion brightening, warm, and slightly orange-red/warm red over deep brown-red is the name of the game.

What would you recommend? For the moment I've disregarded shimmer level as it's hard to tell for me. I've looked on the site, but find it difficult to identify what would be closest, and don't know if I've missed any that would be better than one of Allure, Blaze, Cayenne, Combustion, Dixie, Frolic, Ginny, Hot Blooded, Ingenue, Kindle, Maiden, Mango, Prelude, Temptation, Verve, Zinnia. I would consider getting three or four for her to try.
It looks to me like the following might be out?: Crimson - too cool, Dancing Shoes - too light, Darling - too sheer, Eden - dark & bronzy so not bright enough, Enthrall - perhaps too light; there is no review feedback on this, Negligee - too nude, Pretty Please - too light, Reddy - maybe too cool and dark?

I really look forward to some advice on this. Thank-you!

I would go with Blaze, Temptation, Verve, or Combustion for color match, though I think those are all shimmery to some degree!

Thank-you very much for your input! Do you think any lipstains combined with a creamy-(and no shimmer)-but-otherwise-perhaps-not-quite-bright/orange enough colour might work, and if so, any suggestions for that?

I really appreciate the response. Thank-you again!

The only stain I own is Dixie, and I do think it would work for this. They are sheer, so it will depend a little on the wearers natural lip color. I have medium pigmented plummy toned lips, and Dixie is a warm red on me-very wearable, not too bright, and no shimmer. She could top it with a clear balm, or another color. Peachy Keen is one of my favorites, it's a warm reddish peach with no shimmer. It's very sheer, but layered over Dixie it might produce the color she's looking for.
