I got my foundation today and I mixed 1 scoop heavy coverage base and 4 scoops buttery gold and it's a match. Unbelievable. I just tried it once and I already got a perfect match. But the coverage isnt heavy, it's medium. Do you think we can have heavier coverage than this?

Our foundations are formulated with the coverage variation in the Ivory component. If your ratio is 1 Ivory to 4 Buttery Gold, you probably are not getting the coverage you want. This is something we need to run by Karen.

I am wondering if your ratio was a typo. If it was (and you are 1 Buttery : 4 Ivory), for products to be 'on the list', we generally just need a few more who also would like to see the same product.

omg I did make a typo error. It's 1 buttery gold and 4 ivory. I feel so dumb.
I hope others will want a heavier coverage too. Other than that, Im so glad to have found a match.

Hi faeriedust, how do you apply the foundation? The flat top brushes give heavier coverage than other brushes, and I find spritzing it VERY slighty before applying makes for fuller coverage.

On the other hand, I don't like too heavy an application as it can look cakey. So I've taken to wearing a concealer underneath (not mineral I'm afraid - just can't get those to work as well) and gently applying the foundation over to set and even out.

I applied it with a kabuki dry. I'll try wet but I usually apply dry. I was hoping the coverage will be comparable to cory. I've never got cakey when using cory.

Now I understand. Cory's foundation is 100% titanium dioxide with just enough iron oxide to tint it. It's the heaviest coverage foundation that can ever be made unless they invent a new type of mineral. Cory and I have different philosophies when it comes to foundation formulation- I know she works hard, and I've seen her foundation look wonderful on some women- but we do have a bit different perspective with foundation.

What I look for in a foundation is coverage- but I also want a good finish that's going to make my skin look younger, and smoother, and a little something in there to absorb oil, and make it last all day. I also want to be able to apply it quickly and easily, and look good in photos. I can't achieve all of that with just titanium dioxide (too much titanium dioxide in a formula makes people look ghosty in pics)- so I blend it with other ingredients to make it more user friendly, and functional. Cory makes a decent foundation- but I never got the hang of applying something that heavy.

Our heavy coverage is about 75-80% zinc oxide and titanium dioxide- so it's heavy, but I blended it with other things to make it a little easier to apply, and give it a little bit dewier finish.

If you're really into heavy heavy coverage- 2 coats with a flat top brush will cover pretty much anything you want to hide.

Thanks, Karen for explaining the difference/s between your heavy foundation and Cory foundations. I have been used to the Cory foundation (and used it successfully for years), but love your foundation and your philosophy about it.
