I've had the cream eyeliner palette for a long time (ever since it was first introduced) and while I love the colors, they don't translate well to my eye. The color payoff just isn't there. Is there a way to revive this palette so that the colors pop and show up? Should I use water and use them wet? Or should I use the clear cream liner? I love the colors and would much rather use them than something from the drugstore/Sephora/Ulta.

Side note, I used "Blackout" as a liner today and it looks awesome!

i mostly use them for Halloween facepainting but have also topped them with a similar color shadow to make them pop with color and last forever. I find that easier than mixing with clear. They're wax based so I don't think you can apply them wet. If they dried out (which I don't think is what you mean?) I would just replace the palette since they still sell it.

I have found that the brush makes a big difference. Using a small, dense angled eyeliner brush or pointed brush helps a lot. The shorter/stiffer the bristles are, the better it works.

Do you have a particular brush you recommend/use?

Not the OP, but I've had good success with both the angled liner brush and the liner end of the ultimate shadow brush, especially the latter because it's very short and stiff.

Thanks for the suggestions! I think I might have both of those at home. Do those help keep the line precise, but colorful? I think my problem is that the colors seem rather muted, so I don't know if that is just how the product is or it is because I've had it for so long that they've dried out a bit.

i use the back end of the ultimate eyeshadow brush which is a flat angled liner. I find all of mine to run blackish/grayish with a touch of color, but setting them with shadow makes them last longer anyway

Sorry, haven't been back in a couple of days! Most any dedicated liner brush (i.e. sold specifically as a liner brush) should work. I have an angled one from Walmart or somewhere that I've had for a few years, and the tiny pointed brush from the Ecotools Day-to-Night brush set (about $14.99, in a patterned clutch - I got mine at Target and Ulta has them too) also works really well.

Yes, they are fairly muted colors, which might be why I sometimes forget to use them. :/ But they are nice and I love using the lighter brown kind of smudged if I'm going for a more "delicate" look (which guys prefer, lol!)
