hey ladies,
I just wanted to share my excitement. Today, I sign up for my make up certification. I've been looking high and low for a reputable and trustworthy course and my church friend has an aunt who used to be the Managing Director for L'oreal (Singapore). She's been in the industry as a MUA for yonks. She finally decided to venture out on her own and start her beauty academy with her hubby.
The coolest part is that this course is only 4 people per class!!! Its not one of those 20 per class and u listen to a lecture, then u pay chunks of money to buy their crappy products. Yes, I still have to buy their starter kits but with 4 per class, and lots and lots of practical training, I'm really looking forward to gaining useful knowledge and skills.

Faith, Congrats. Enjoy learning and with such a small class you should walk away with lots of actual hands on time. Am looking forward to hearing how well you like your couse's and of course I'm sure we all want to gain from you knowledge.

Thanks for the affirmation, ladies.
I am going to save up and buy one of those new macbook pros. And then I'll take videos with my camera and with the mac I'll be able to create awesome movies & slideshows and upload them. I could do that now, but somehow its more tedious on a PC than on a mac. Premier Elements is still not as rich as iMovie.
I'd love to be able to share what I've learnt! It would be awesome if this would turn out to be a new career. For now, I'm happy just enjoying this as a hobby.

PS, I LOVE that you put your foundation formula on your signature. I think I will copy you if you don't mind...?

Congrats,Faith! I am sure you will do very well! I can't wait to hear a few tips for us, as I am sure there are so many things you will learn.
I have to agree with Zeebs.....I think putting your foundation formula in you Siggie is a great idea, especially for our lurkers and newbies. I think I may do the same, too.

I think the foundation recipe in the siggie is esp useful when we have avatars of our own faces too. Helps to give an immediate idea... well, sort of... haha, avatars aren't usually at the best resolution or lighting

better than nothing yah?
I'm already thinking that with the dupes that Karen makes, I can really give the ladies who trust me to experiment on their faces a healthier alternative to the branded stuff. And who knows? Maybe turn more people on to SN! Its more affordable and definitely better for our skin.

hi frond, its $800 for a 30 hour course and then I have to buy their starter kits for $250. i know, i balked at the starter kits too, but I figured, its school fees and materials -- like when I had to pay for textbooks that I NEVER refer to anymore from my Psych undergrad days.
