I'm no Christina Hendricks AT ALL, but every time I watch Mad Men, I can't stop thinking about how gorgeous her red lipsticks are. I think putting a shade on like that would at least make me FEEL like a bombshell for a day...I read somewhere that the makeup artists use NARS Heat Wave or Jungle Red on her.

I love the true red of Jungle Red, but I am like a moth to a flame with the orange-toned Heat Wave...

My obsession with orangey-reds is pretty unhealthy right now...I would be totally okay with a dupe of MAC Lady Danger if Heat Wave isn't an option...

Have you tried Reddy (true red), bombshell (I haven't tried it) and temptation (awesome coral red)? Temptation and Reddy are two of my favorite reds (although temptation is not exactly a red).

I would love an orange-y red too, Heat Wave looks nice!
I have almost all the reds from Samantha's swatches, but none of them are orange - maybe I'll try layering with Zinnia
Temptation didn't work for me, it was too bright and pink, rather than coral :/

I just ordered Verve (looked pretty close to Temptation without all the shimmer), so I'm pretty excited to try that. Reddy is next on my list...I love how it looks like such a perfect "daytime" red...all these reds are truly tempting to buy all at once...but now that I'm a full-blown SN addict (after two orders and one pending!), I know I'll eventually have them all.

Just to follow up on my experiment: Crimson layered with Zinnia looks quite nice, with a little Petal on the cheeks and Bristol all over the lid with a liner, like Sapphire or Tarnish
