Thinking about Fall...

Post by karen » Tue Aug 25, 2009 11:26 am

I've been pondering the fall collection a bit. It's looking like the trend is PIGMENT- lots and lots of it. But when I was looking at what was on the runway in Europe a lot of the models weren't wearing a ton of makeup- very natural- almost bare.

We have to bring back lipstick...no question about it- some of our original colors are coming back, and then we need some new ones.
What would you like to see?

I need some colors the same density of Rapture. My lips are uneven in color. I tried Breathless and it's too sheer. I also hope Rapture will make a comeback. I've been checking the site all summer for the Almost Lipsticks to return. Love your formula! Easy to wear reds and a pink/peach. I don't do well with bright in-your-face colors.JMO...Thanks

Please bring back Delight. This is my go-to colour. Also, a reddish-brown lipstick would be great.

For lipstick, anything that comes in the Black Label formula, I'd buy! :D (Subtle hint wish request, new flavours for the colourless BlackLabel would be great, too).

For eyes, Thriller has totally captivated my imagination. On that theme, I'd love a particular 'look' for an eyeliner powder (in the pigment intensity and colour adherence of Basalt, specifically for eye lining as it can be smudged out for lids, but it's hard to line effectively with less pigmented lid wash shadows). I'm thinking that this season for the heavy smokey eyes, the dark colours have a grey undertone. This makes jewel tones more flattering to wear heavily. How about a deep pigmented powder with a same-colour shimmer throught it? I'm thinking a deep inky midnight blue-indigo, a royal velvet purple, a luxurious emerald (true green) and a ceylon sapphire blue (with the blue shimmer from Breathe, for example)? I could imagine Bewitched made more pigmented and shot through with the shimmer in Pop. I don't know if anyone would be brave enough, but a ruby red shimmer over a Black Cherry Creme Eyeliner colour in a powder eyeliner format would be to die for, too. Summary - jewel toned brights made wearable with a sultry grey base and a matching jewel-toned shimmer overlay (a la Thriller). Hugs in advance 8-)

... Or a very limited edition specialist collection of some all-time essential favourites but with a twist of added gold (or silver, or even Gasp-blue or other colours, as appropriate) through them. I'm thinking Idolize with Fire - it's a whole new love affair. Could a small collection of ultimate favourites be done with this extra layer of shimmery overlay? Would be fabulous for the festive season (which in Mineral Land runs from July through to June, FYI ;) 8-) )

Hi Karen,
Thanks for taking suggestions! :D I would love a light purple/lavender sparkly e/s. It might not seem fall like, but I think it would look nice with brown shades in clothing and lipstick. Also some light brown sparkly e/s that we can wear as a wash.

Thanks!!!

Oh my. Now that you ask... I have loved loved loved Carpe Diem in the past year. It's the perfect everyday golden berry. Please bring it back for the fall! :-)

I still think the colors of Provence should inspire the whole line...for the eyes, medium tones of azure, purple, and a fabulous new green, maybe created with some sort of black shimmer to give them some interesting drama.
For lips, a terracotta shade of lipstick, shot with gold shimmer(maybe a duochrome....think of a much deeper Quiver)
I'd also like to see some duochrome finishes with either lipsticks or glosses.

A bit of cool blue(think Pop or Jean Queen) mixed into a pink or plum gloss.
A bit of bronze-green duochrome blended into a tan or rust or pale nude.

Since both eyes and lips are gonna be colorful...maybe a couple new *nude blushes*, sorta like Maybe Baby with a little bit of Beach Bunny mixed in.......

A dark colored eye shadow base, to play up all thise purty colors.

Oh, and I think Tigerlily should be released as a blush!

Oh, and Karen, I heard that Bathed&Infused was up for sale........

Loving Laurie's Provencal theme :)

Adding a specific request - Mac's mineralize blush in 'Hand Crafted' (swatch on Temptalia review is amazing)

... and how could I forget to plead for Carpe Diem??
