Name that Blush!

Post by karen » Thu Aug 21, 2008 12:14 pm

So this is the part of making a new collection where I get stuck...it was easy about 200 products ago, but now I'm a little tapped. Someone suggested letting customers name the new products- SURE!! SN official policy is to take help from just about anyone who offers, and bribe them with makeup.

Right now I have the list of blushes:
MAC Dame
MAC Pleasantry
Bobbi Brown Desert Rose
Bobbi Brown Mauve
NARS Dolce Vita

Then there's the Shimmering Nudes Clones:
Nude Beach Metallic
Nude Mist Shimmerwash
Naked- matte shadow
Nude Glow shimmerwash
Nude Spice
Mica- she calls it a shimmerwash, I don't completely agree with this one. This one is a repeat too- I did tweak it a bit this year though- it's Aztec, which we're keeping, and adding the updated version too.
Espresso- that's a repeat- it's Bassalt

The pics are on my blog, or on Nordstrom.com (they released it earlier this week I just found out)

Vintage and Chocolate Mauve eye shadows from the Mauve Palette. I didn't clone the lippies- I just didn't fall in love with them.

Then I'm planning to clone BB Clear Pink lippie as well.

The one thing with names...when they're really similar it's hard for us to keep them straight. I was packing orders one day, and after about 40 orders I yelled out: What idiot named 3 lippies Rare Berry, Berry Crush, and Berry Nice? That was ME- but I don't want to do that again.

The rules- you name it, you get it. Just post the names here- you don't have to come up with names for all of them. To get the freebie product just put a note in with your order and we'll include it.

Thank you so much- and have fun!!!

Help! I wanna try and name the eyeshadows, but I cannot tell by the photo which of Karen's dupes corresponds to each color in the palette except of course for Basalt. Can you label each of the SN colors, please????(Maybe by number)

Does my question make sense or am I just a boob?

Hi, I am trying to be kind of funny and tongue and cheek with my entry while still somewhat keeping to the "Nudes Theme". Please feel free to re-arrange the colors in any kind of way you might like, I just thought this might be kind of fun!

EDITED TO INCLUDE 2 OTHER EYESHADOWS:

And for the lippie:

Hey Laurie,
Espresso/Basalt will stay the same since our version has not changed.

There are still two more eyeshadows, the blushes, and the BB Clear Pink Lippie!

That's hilarious- I just about sprayed my monitor with Diet Coke! I needed that today- thank you so much. You don't have to name them all...goodness knows I don't!

I seem to be too tired to match the appropriate color to the dupes. On the Blog photo the blush on the far right reminds me of the color of a Lady Slipper Flower. It’s a type of orchid, they are becoming pretty rare now and it’s the Provincial flower for my Province. Lady Slipper would be my submission for that blush.
