my skin eats my make up

Post by janine » Wed Jan 29, 2014 1:10 pm

Hello, Iam new here, I´m from Germany, so perhaps my Grammatik is not very good :)

I got my order yesterday and I love it sooo much, my skin looks so beautiful. I tried the powder Mineral foundation with heavy coverage. First I moisturized my face an then put the mixed foundation on, it was very very well, but a few hours ago, it seems to be gone, a Little bit was still there but i thought like "oh, my skin ate my make up "

What do I have to do, that it will last longer?

Greetings from Germany :) :)

Is there a good primer I can use? I have very dry skin, in my second order I ordered some toner, serum and moisturizer. I do have to change my skincare routine, I always have skinproblems in winter.

Here I have the ultimate luxury powder. Can I use this as a primer? Please help me, Iam very new here.

The skin products will help with the dryness. I think the dryness is what causes the foundation to slide off.

Also, it does take some time to figure out what will work for you. Yes, you can try the Ultimate Luxury Powder as a Primer, but I am not sure a powder primer is the answer. What serum did you choose?

I ordered the AHA and BHA toner, the apricot cleansing oil, intensiv moistutizer Q10 , raspberry moisturizer and the oatmeal hydrating serum and the rose hydrating serum. At the moment I use the olive oil moisturizer but I think this is not enough. when I put it on, it soaks in and feels good, but a few minutes later I feel my skin is still dry

Janine,
I also suffer from very dry skin, but I have had no problem with my makeup sliding off. In fact, it seems to last forever. What I apply beneath my powder foundation is basically a tinted moisturizer.

Hi! I also have very dry skin in winter and similar problems with my skin eating powder foundation, so hopefully I can give you some helpful information.

My skin "eats" SN's regular foundation formulas, but the "all-purpose" formula has very good staying power. I wish the coverage was a little heavier but I prefer non-disappearing. :) I've also had luck using the Oil Control Primer underneath. You might also want to try some samples of the new cream foundation with your next order, I have been using that exclusively since it was released a few months ago and love it.

You might want to add a stronger moisturizer to your routine for winter. I use several SN serums and moisturizers, but they are not quite moisturizing enough, so I use a skin/face oil mix on top of them. What I do is wash my face, pat dry gently with a towel, apply a SN serum or moisturizer, wait a minute for it to soak in, get my hands wet and rub/pat the water over my face, then apply several drops or more of the oil. Gently blot the excess oil off (I use toilet tissue) immediately or wait a few minutes for it to soak in a bit. THEN I apply my foundation. My skin still looks a little dry and flaky but not nearly as bad.

Good luck and I hope you find a routine that works for you!
