Oil Control Serum??

Post by karen » Sat Apr 25, 2009 1:41 pm

So I'm hearing some pretty good things about the OC serum, and have some girls asking for more more more. That's always good to hear, and I'm thinking I should release it in the full size pretty soon- especially with summer coming.

Before I go ahead and release it does anyone find it objectionable? Would it be a waste of time/money? Do you like the feel of it? Do I need to change anything?

Nope, for my 2c's worth, I'd say crack on ahead and release it. I'm three days into testing it out and it's marvelous. On it's own, it does not replace my *need* for the other serums, those I must use to combat the dehydration so I've continued to use them liberally at night. Daytime, for a thorough test, I use nothing but the OCS and a light dab of normal moisturiser over. I get a very light, fine oil on my skin in the normal and healthy amount sense, just enough to stop it drying out but it's dewy, not at all what is normally called 'oily'. It lasts a good 8-10 hours at least for me (haven't tried it longer) and maintains that same dewy-matte effect even in this sticky-sweaty humid mini heatwave here. My oily forehead stayed matte even working outdoors and I only got a little oily around the crease at the sides of my nostrils.

Can't say a single word in anything less than praise of it.

I really like it, too :) ; use it only on my nose & forehead (where I get oily) in the day time, with VitC serum elsewhere. I use the Oat serum at night, on its own.

I think it's a great product. The sample bottle will last me for ages asI don't use it all over but would definitely recommend that anyone who gets oily anywhere gives it a try, if they haven't already. It gives just the right amount of oil control without bing overly 'moistrure robbing' IMO.

I'd ask that it be sold in fairly small bottles as it's likely to be used less liberally than the other serums. Plus, if it's in a smaller bottle, it'd be more transportable. We'd also keep it for less time and repurchase it fresh.

Wouldn't change anything. It is very good at keeping the oily shine away and the texture is very light on your skin. :)

It smells like Cod Liver Oil.. Any fish-y contents in there?

Weird...I hadn't really noticed a strong smell. It's vegan- no fish oil. Hmmm... did anyone else notice it?

Actually, I have, but it's not so strong, and I can only smell it upon application, after a few seconds it's gone.
But when I tried to "sniff" the bottle, I couldn't smell a thing. Couldn't smell it either if I just put a drop on my finger...

So far I can't seem to make the serum work for me, my skin isn't that oily but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
I think I might be applying it wrong...
I apply it in the morning only, on my T zone, and I apply my moisturizer on top of it right after that.
Should I wait a bit before applying my moisturizer? Should I apply the serum last?
I'll have to try differents ways to use it in the next few days to see if it makes any difference...

Defiantly realise it karen.

I did a test of one day using the untinted oil control blur powder underneath the foundation and on top. The next day I used the oil control serum underneath the foundation then normal finishing powder on top. I found them both to be very good with the same results, (foundation lasted longer with a nice dewy affect) but bearing in mind that on the 1st day (with the blur) it was colder then the day with the serum. Will do further testing to see :D

Anne: I apply the vitC serum 1st, then my moisturiser, then the oil control serum with the foundation next.
Foundation: 1: baggie 6: ebony: 7 glow
Fav blush: Steller
Fav Lippie: Symphony
Fav combo: cream 1st half of lid, 09:59 2nd half, chocolate twinkle in the crease with Blackheart over it blended out and vanillia on brow bone.
